Body Beautiful #2--Exfoliating

When I went to get my manicure and pedicure the other day, the women doing my nails, while she was massaging my legs, said my skin felt dry there. I probably don't drink enough water, which would be a cause of dehydration (going to work on that) but I also thought maybe I should start exfoliating. I got some olive oil skin exfoliant, and and using it about every other time I get in the bath. For the next little while, it does seem to make my skin softer there. I am hoping to make this a part of my regular routine.

You Are Who You Date

I read an interesting article yesterday about a premise I had heard before: That who you date is a reflection of who you are. Not in the superficial sense, such as you date a rich man so you must be a gold digger. No, deeper. Like you are dating who you are. Sounds complicated maybe, but I think it has merit. Like I keep dating commitmentphobes, when in fact I have been unsure of settling down myself. If you are a nester, that is who you are looking for and who will come into your sphere. The woman who is not yet separated, and she attracts people who are also not available. And on and on. Another argument for the laws of attraction.

Body Beautiful #1--Manicure/Pedicure

I enjoy being fit and attractive, but I am far from that right now. Four years of law school (plus being four years older) has taken a toll on my beauty routine and waistline. Although I am not too far from final exams and graduation and then a nosedive into the bar, I am determined I am not going to wait any longer to get my groove back. I want to be a body beautiful again. So I am going to report my little snippets at getting back into shape. My first effort was a week ago when I had my first manicure and pedicure in about a year! I had promised myself last year that I would treat myself to a manicure at least once a month, but that went by the wayside. I picked out a fun color--pink margarita--and it looks great on me. What was wonderful was the feeling of pampering myself. It is good to do something femmy and pretty.

Online Dating in Class

People get restless in class, and although we should be sitting there rapt by the black letter law, sometimes it just can't be done. Our building is wireless and many people have laptops, so the inevitable happens: People surf the net.

I am guilty. Sometimes I just have to check my email or one of my favorite Websites. But I refuse to go to an online dating site during class. The main reason being that people behind me would see me doing it. And I couldn't bear the snickers. I know, because people in front of me have done this, and I have been guilty about gossiping about it. Just the other night, a woman was emailing people on an online dating site and several people were aware of this and razzed her about it later on. But she is one of the top people in our class, and I guess she can do what she wants! She probably already knows all of the material!

FaveGuy Reappears

Here was a big surprise. The first man I met on match.com was FaveGuy. Fell head over heels with him. Smart, cute, funny. He had it all. And oh yeah, was kind of a user and irresponsible. I couldn't believe it. He really wasn't the man I fell for. (That is one of the dangers of online dating, or really dating in general--you think someone is one way and fall for them, only to find out they are not that way at all!)

I would get mad and we would have words. He would always know what to say. He moved away. I was glad. Out of sight, out of mind. Put it all behind me.

I have been doing The Secret, aka, the Laws of Attraction. One of the things I have been willing my way is my love, my soulmate, my future husband.

Who contacts me? FaveGuy. Says he might be moving back to town and if he did, would I see him?

I should have said no. I should have ignored his email. But I said yes. Maybe I am really stupid. But there has been enough distance, time and geographic wise, that I think I can see him more as a friend. At least I won't get caught up in it again. At least maybe thinking he will be moving back to town will inspire me to finally lose the weight I need to lose.

No More Mr. NiceGuy?

I still haven't heard from NiceGuy--you know I mentioned he didn't do anything for me on Valentine's Day. Not that I really was expecting anything, but it would have gotten him some points! As I said before, we have had fun, but I don't feel any romance between us, and guys are quick to bail in situations like that. To be honest, I go for more of an alpha type male, and he just isn't one. I don't mean he is feminine, but there is not enough alpha in the mix there. Maybe why there was no romance. Oh well. Nice guy though still. Maybe we can be friends. I'll mull that over.
